Rockin' the Beach

The back gate of Rocking J’s opens up to the beach trail. 300m to the left you can see the Salsa Brava Surf break, famous for its strength and power that comes from deep water onto a shallow, sharp coral reef. Probably the biggest and best right break in Costa Rica.

400m to the right is Cocles beach, the winner of the "Blue flag" for clean beaches, awarded by the Costa Rican government. You will find lifeguards controlling the beach due to the strong currents. Make sure you swim between the flags!

The beach directly outside Rocking J’s is a lot calmer and a perfect area to enjoy a good book and swim in the pool that captured Mr. J himself. The beach is cleaned daily and a bon fire is set every night to ensure perfect ambiance for a Rocking J’s party.
